First-Movers Advantage

Adidas has been able to maintain a competitive edge on the competition and I have given it credit to a ton of different factors but perhaps one of the most important reasons is their ability and confidence to be the first to move in a particular direction. Adidas has slowly shifted from being a fashion powerhouse to catering to the fitness world. Now, they have a stronghold on both fashion and fitness. Attached is an article on Adidas' most recent and possibly revolutionary addition to their product that they've made to this date.   http://www.supplychain247.com/article/adidas_adding_more_innovative_technology_to_its_supply_chain

Outworking the Competition

The way Adidas manages to beat out their competition on a regular basis is simple, they touch several different aspects out modern culture. Adidas has been able to connect with the people so well because they work hard. They research what it takes to relate to the specific groups they're targeting and they execute that plan perfectly.  Adidas sponsors several people that are in the public eye from several different backgrounds, from music to athletics.  Recently Nike made a deal with the NBA and under armor signed ASAP Rocky (a very well known rapper). Although these are two really big hits to Adidas, it doesn't hurt them much because all of the ventures that companies are doing now, Adidas has been doing since reinventing themselves.   Not only is Adidas doing a great job marketing, they are doing exceptional with their product as well, having transitioned from being known mostly for athletic wear to becoming a fashion powerhouse within the industry. ...

The answer is simple, they have partnered with influential people and businesses.  Adidas has been seen partnering with organizations such as FIFA, UEFA, NBA, Cricket and Olympics and what made them standout is the fact that they have always provided great quality products to these companies which end up being the best pr...

The Resurgence

Chapter one of our text and Adidas seem to come together so well because Adidas clearly has a management team that believes in and implements the importance of strategy. A firms strategy can be described as that particular company's theory on how to attain high levels of performance in the markets within which it operates. Obviously, Adidas has done some great strategizing because there was a point when companies such as Nike kept a competitive edge on Adidas but here recently Adidas has done a great job of breaking barriers and reaching the masses like never before. Adidas found themselves and stopped trying to directly compete with their top competitors and it has worked for them. Everywhere you go, you see more and more Adidas on peoples feet. They not only have stylish shoes but they are affordable enough for everybody to afford. Adidas took an approach to specifically target the mellennial because they are aware of two things, the first being that we love fashion. ...
